In 2019, Mr. Ros Sayumphu graduated from the Royal University of Law and Economics with an English Language Based Bachelor of Law (ELBBL) and the Royal University of Phnom Penh with a Bachelor of International Studies (International Relations). In September 2020, he also earned an LLM in International Law from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom. ” China’s Rise and the Application of International Maritime Law to the South China Sea: Revisited” was the topic of his dissertation. Currently, he is studying for a Master’s in Security, Conflict, and International Development at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom.

His research interests include Public International Law, International Security, and Khmer History.

Before becoming a research fellow at the Centre for Inclusive Digital Economy (CIDE), Sayumphu also holds a research position at Sala Traju Association, a Phnom Penh-based law-focused think tank.
