The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has revitalized a rich history of cultural interactions spanning over two thousand years and ignited the aspirations of over 150 nations to realise a shared vision: peace, harmony, and prosperity.
Collaboration within the BRI framework has ushered in significant and deep-seated transformations globally, marking an important milestone in the annals of human history.
Despite some missteps, loopholes, and shortcomings, it is safe to argue that the BRI remains one of the world’s largest platforms for international cooperation. It is a driving force of re-globalization and forming a new world economic order.
The third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which is taking place in Beijing this week, presents an opportunity for deep reflections, honest assessment, and contemplation while setting directions for a new era. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet will deliver an address at the Forum to share the Cambodian perspective on the BRI and the way forward.
In a world beset by turbulence, complexity, uncertainty, and fragmentation, the BRI emerges as a beacon of hope, offering a vision for a brighter, more inclusive, cooperative future.
