In a world grappling with mounting humanitarian challenges, the 20th Southeast Asia Red Cross and Red Crescent Leaders Meeting and the 2nd Southeast Asia Youth Forum held in Phnom Penh last week served as a platform of partnership building and innovation.
Hosted by the Cambodian Red Cross and attended by eleven Red Cross and Red Crescent national societies from Southeast Asia, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the ASEAN Secretariat, this annual meeting marked another critical turning point in the humanitarian sector.
This annual meeting aims to discuss Red Cross and Red Crescent policies and issues, assess progress in strategic directions, foster sub-regional cooperation and accountability, strengthen collaboration, enhance performance, align with global commitments, and ensure adequate follow-up on the agreed commitments.
