The key word to describe the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, signed this November, is “inclusive”, said Vannarith Chheang, president of the Cambodia-based think tank Asian Vision Institute. Because the world is operating in the context of protectionism and unilateralism and a decline in multilateralism, he added, promoting inclusive and open multilateral systems plays a critical role in sustaining economic momentum.
