On 5th April 2022, an AVI team led by Dr. Chheng Kimlong, joined by Dr. Ngo Sitthykun and Ms. Pov Yousim, met with the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary in Budapest to discuss about think tank cooperation, particularly intellectual exchanges and collaboration in research and publication. Both AVI and IFAT have agreed in principle to cooperate on (i) Geopolitics, Peace and Security, (ii) Economy and Trade, including trade integration such as Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and geo-economics, and (iii) Environment, Climate Change and Sustainable Development, all of which focus on Asia and Europe, with some flexibility to focus on other topics and parts of the world. Both institutions will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at an appropriate time in the near future. The IFAT Director Dr. Marton Ugrodsy and his team have also expressed strong support for the cooperation with AVI in the Think Tank 2022 Public Lecture Series and related workshop that focus on peace and international security issues. Taking that opportunity, the AVI team presented three copies of the book “Hun Sen’s Thought and Vision for Cambodia” to the IFAT Director and his team.
